Founded in 1949 to serve the waterworks industry, Groeniger & Company continues to this day operating on the original cornerstones of knowledge, service and integrity. Management of the company has passed through three generations of the Groeniger family who have maintained these principles as paramount in how Groeniger & Company does business. The company has aggressively and strategically expanded from our first office in Oakland to over a dozen locations serving Northern and Central California. Members of the Groeniger family and key employees have a comprehensive understanding of the industry because we have worked in every aspect of the firm and accumulated several thousand years of waterworks experience.

From the single office in Oakland which our founder W.C. “Bill” Groeniger opened in 1949, Groeniger has expanded in a strategic fashion to meet the needs of a growing industry with locations throughout Northern California into the Central Valley, Central Coast and now into Southern California. Each location was purposely chosen with easy freeway access. We react to our customers needs quickly and efficiently. Our estimators are familiar with local and regional specifications, enabling them to give accurate and timely proposals and information. Looking forward, the company will continue to eye new locations as needed to effectively meet the needs of our customers.

Today the company remains the largest family-owned and operated waterworks supply house in the nation’s biggest state. We hold the distinction as California’s leading pipeline materials supplier. Groeniger maintains an extensive inventory of high-quality products, materials and in-house services to fill the diverse needs of our customers in a timely fashion. The company creates and supplies application-tailored formulas to meet the exacting design and performance criteria of consulting engineers and contractors for residential, commercial, industrial and governmental users of waterworks technology.
